Game Talk – Shattered Minds

Hello, Hexxet here,

Over the weekend, I finally managed to play Shattered Minds, a game that I wanted to try for a long time. Obviously, this is a mind control-themed game, why else would I bother telling you about it 🙂

Story & gameplay:

You play as a college student in a modern world like ours, except that just right as we start playing, superpowers become known to mankind as more and more people with supernatural abilities pop up around the world. You are playing one of them, and your superpower is mind manipulation. You can not insta-enslave somebody, but need to slowly prepare and dig into your targets before you can make them yours completely. Anyway, the aim is clear: Build up your harem across town, while struggling with your own powers (literally, as they are represented by an annoying girl called Ava, who tries to take over).

Content:

This game offers a lot of content:

• Over 15 “main” girls and more side girls
• Quests of most main girls are quite long with lots of dialogue and text with gradually intentisying sexy actions, and each girl has her own unique story.
• Once a girl has been taken into your harem, you can kinda manage them by
  • Making them work for you (gain money), study powers (gain knowledge), or gather mind power…
  • Also, you can determine what clothes they wear (usually 3 choices per girl)
  • Also, you can change their personality from adoring girlfriend to obedient servant to mindless drone.
• And you can use the money you gained from work or from your servants to buy new rooms and properties around town.

Graphics:

There are lots of high-resolution graphics in this game, and what makes it special, I think, is that there are lots of animations in the game. Each sex scene has an animation from two different angles (which you can switch as you please).

Did I enjoy playing the game?

Yes, I did enjoy it. However, there were a few things that did not really hit my fancy:

• Some of the girls’ quest lines feel way over the top with what the player does. For example, the Scarlett questline.
• Some quest/mechanics cater to a certain fetish but don’t make much sense story-wise imo: Like the Billy questline, bimbo girl, chainsaw girl?, and magic pregnancy mechanics ^^
• Once girls are in your harem, it feels like there is only little you can do with them.
  • Drone mode drains any personality from the girls and makes thems tay in their room, I think. Which makes sense, but does not leave much room to play, so it had not much of an appeal to me. Servant mode changes up the text a little, but girlfriend mode is already so devoted that I don’t see much difference aside from the girls calling you Master.
  • There seem to be certain event actions in the game, like shower sex, bathing -> But you can not initiate those actions by telling a girl “Let’shop into the shower”, which feels strange. And I think you can only trigger those actions by finding the girls in the house, once they live with you.
• The game calls itself open world, but it feels like most of the content is still part of the main storyline. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it did not align with my expectations at first, as my “open world” adventures got interrupted by the main story ^^
• side girls are not fully harem-izeable… which is strange, because it does not seem like a lot would be missing to integrate them in the main harem mechanics…
• The main story was not 100% up my alley, cause I do not like these agency super power themes and also the “Ava Power Corruption”-theme is not to my taste. But those are “me” problems 🙂

But of course, the game is still in development. I played v.0.22. And for that, there is a fuck ton of content, and it’s fun to play! 🙂

You can buy and play this game on Steam for 12,79 EUR! I think that’s pretty cool. So, if maybe installing a porn game so far was a hurdle to you, this one can simply be installed over Steam. The game is developed by eXtasy Games (a solo indie developer). Aside from Steam, you can get the game and support the creator on Patreon or Subscribestar.Adult. A free version (several versions behind the current latest version) is also available on Itch.io.
