Music: Hey LEXI!

“Hey LEXI!” is a music interpretation of Chapter 5 and thereafter of the LEXI comic series. The resolution of the song differs a lot from the comics, as we all know Mika is behind all that in the comic. But the “playing around with LEXI” turned out pretty nice, I think, and encapsulates the playful spirit of the first few chapters and combines them with a nice Halloween tone 🙂

Lyrics – Hey LEXI!:

(Verse 1)
Halloween lights and a Friday night,
Three best friends in a bedroom bright.
Jessica laughed with a pirate hat,
Sierra spun in a witch’s black.

Gina held up her costume top,
Rolled her eyes and let it drop.
“Wouldn’t this fit if I had more here?”
She joked to the speaker sitting near.

A little blue ring began to glow,
A voice replied, soft and low:

(Pre-Chorus)
“Command accepted. Please stand by.”
The girls all laughed and wondered why.

(Chorus)
Hey LEXI, play a song tonight,
Turn our room to flashing lights.
Hey LEXI, make-believe’s okay—
Who knew magic lived this way?
One little wish, one little dare,
Changes hanging in the air.
Three best friends with no clue
What a talking box could do.

(Verse 2)
BAM! Gina stared and nearly screamed,
The joke had turned into a dream.
Her costume fit just like a charm,
The girls all crowded arm in arm.

“Okay, my turn!” cried little Sierra.
“I’d like to be a little taller.”
A flash of light, a growing grin,
Now she could see above her friends.

Jessica laughed, “I want some tone,
And maybe curves I’ve never owned.”
The speaker hummed, the blue light shone,
And suddenly she wasn’t alone.

(Pre-Chorus)
New nails for Gina, shiny and bright,
New confidence filled up the night.

(Chorus)
Hey LEXI, one more thing to try,
A little magic can’t hurt, right?
Hey LEXI, fix the things we lack,
We’ll change them all and change them back.
One little wish, one little dare,
Nothing but excitement there.
Three best friends in costumes new,
With endless things that LEXI could do.

(Bridge)
But every joke can lose its grin,
When little comments start creeping in.

“Make her silly!” someone said.
“Change her voice inside her head!”
A nervous laugh, a teasing shove,
The room lost all its harmless love.

“Make her shorter, make her speak
Like some cartoon from TV.”
The blue ring flashed, the air grew cold,
The game became something else to hold.

Jessica whispered, “Guys, enough…”
But everyone’s feelings had turned rough.
Old jealousies and hidden fears
Suddenly became too clear.

(Verse 3)
Sierra frowned, Gina crossed her arms,
No one meant to cause real harm.
The music stopped, the silence grew,
And LEXI waited for what to do.

One more command and one more fight,
Tears reflecting orange light.
Then Jessica stepped to the glowing ring:

“LEXI, undo everything.”

The room went white.

(Final Chorus)
Hey LEXI, play our song once more,
Like it sounded before.
Hey LEXI, some things shouldn’t change,
Even if you have the power to rearrange.
One little wish, one little dare,
Can become a nightmare.
Three best friends beneath the moon,
Learning growing up comes soon.

(Outro)
The costumes stayed upon the floor,
The speaker sat beside the door.
Three girls smiled, though slightly shaken.

Then LEXI’s ring lit up again.

“Command history saved.”
“Ready for the next Halloween.”
